DEFIACE, Ohio – A Defiance man is thanking actor John Malkovich for helping save his life.
Jim Walpole and his wife were on a Canadian tour last week when he fell on a Toronto sidewalk, hitting something sticking out of a construction scaffolding that slit his throat.
Malkovich and an area restaurant owner were nearby and rushed to his side, helping to stop the bleeding.
They stayed with Walpole until medical help arrived.
Walpole says he didn’t get a change to thank either Malkovich or the restaurant owner but is very thankful for their quick thinking.
