Life for man in burned woman case

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – A trip to death row is not in the future of the man convicted of burning a woman alive in Muskingum County.

A jury recommended a life sentence without parole yesterday for LaFonse Dixon, siding with defense attorneys who argued a troubled childhood led him into a life of crime.

Dixon was convicted last week of beating then setting Celeste Fronsman on fire last year along a rural road.

Two women who pleaded guilty to the murder are awaiting sentencing.
