Man accused of operating heavy machinery drunk

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – A Westerville man is facing his fifth drunk driving charge after wrecking a piece of heavy machinery.

Police say Ronald Diersing, Jr., was driving a large lawn mower along N. State Street this week at high speed, slamming into several utility poles before rolling the mower into a ravine.

When officers arrived at the scene, Diersing had allegedly commandeered a backhoe to retrieve the tractor.

No injuries were reported.
