New coach, new faces at OSU

COLUMBUS – Two more players signed to play football at Ohio State in the fall, bringing the total number of players in head coach Ryan Day’s first recruiting class to 17.

Day added two offensive linemen on Wednesday — Dawand Jones from Indianapolis and Enokk Vimahi of Kahuku, Hawaii — to the 15 players who signed in December and transfer quarterback Justin Fields from Georgia, who committed in January for a total of 18 new players who will be wearing scarlet and gray in 2019.

At No. 15, Ohio State’s was one of five Big Ten recruiting classes ranked in the top 25 in the nation by 247Sports. Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh added one more player on the second letter-of-intent signing day to a 26-man class that was No. 1 in the Big Ten and No. 8 nationally.
