COLUMBUS, Ohio – Columbus police are investigating a pair of deadly shootings.
Officers responding to reports of gunfire just before 9:30 last night on near E. 26th and Joyce Avenues found the body of Brandon Beard, 23, inside the house at 1774 E 26th Ave.
This was the 69 homicide of 2013 in Columbus.
Detectives are also looking for whoever opened fire outside a Miller Avenue home yesterday afternoon, killing 18-year-old Desmond Fisher as he sat on a porch.
At approximately 12:58 p.m. officers dispatched to 996 Miller Avenue on the report of a shooting found Fisher on the porch suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest.
He was taken to Grant Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 1:09 p.m.
At this time there are no known suspects in either case.
