COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Blue Jackets’ struggles continued Sunday when they lost to Edmonton 3-1 at Nationwide Arena.
The loss came despite the fact that Columbus outshot the Oilers 40-14. The 14 shots on goal allowed was just one more than the franchise record low.
The Oilers took a 1-0 lead in the first quarter, but R.J. Umberger tied the score with a goal at 9:43 of the third. Edmonton scored two unanswered goals for the win.
San Jose comes to Nationwide Arena tonight (7:00 p.m./FOX Sports Ohio HD).
Tonight’s game is the fifth of a six-game home stand for Columbus.
The Sharks and CBJ are both reeling: The Jackets have gone 0-2-1 in their last three home games since a 4-2 win over Detroit on Feb. 2. And the Sharks have gone 0-2-2 since starting the season with seven-straight wins.
