Police: Hilliard man strangled mother

HILLIARD, Ohio – A 22-year-old Hilliard man is facing murder charges in the strangulation death of his mother.

Tyler Dunkle was charged yesterday for allegedly strangling Terri Menendez, 44, in her townhouse.

Dunkle was also found inside the home, unconscious from an apparent drug overdose, and was arrested on one count of murder after he recovered in the hospital.

He was slated to be taken to the Franklin County Jail awaiting arraignment.

Officers found Menendez’ body inside his home at 2596 Westham Way Monday afternoon after family members and co-workers became concerned when she didn’t show up for work.

Callers told police dispatchers that Dunkle lived with his mother at the townhouse and worked at Walmart.
