MANSFIELD, Ohio – The city of Mansfield, sitting about halfway between Columbus and Cleveland, is planning a bit of a dark celebration for the end of August.
They will be commemorating the 20th anniversary of the filming of “The Shawshank Redemption,” a prison film shot at the Ohio State Reformatory in Mansfield.
The weekend of August 30th to September 1st will be Shawshank Reunion Weekend, featuring actor appearances, tours of filming locations, and of course, a screening of the Academy Award-nominated film.
