School levy campaign begins

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Columbus school and city leaders want your vote for a major tax issue.

Supporters of Issue 50 launched their campaign yesterday, with teachers and parents pushing for more funding to transform the district into a high-achieving operation.

The district has combined a 9.01-mill operating levy with a $175 million bond issue.

If the levy is approved on Nov. 5, the owner of a $100,000 home in the district would pay $315 more per year in property taxes.

The money will be spent on building improvements and teacher training.
