COLUMBUS, Ohio – Murder charges are being filed against a Northeast Side man accused of killing his mother.
Police arrested Robert Lindsey, 19, yesterday afternoon after he allegedly stabbed Latonia Banner to death during a fight inside their apartment at 3856 Chestnut Ridge Loop.
Officers responding to the report of a stabbing at 4:35 p.m. found Lindsey on the front steps of the apartment with a stab wound in his leg.
Banner, 41, was found fatally stabbed inside the apartment and was pronounced dead at the scene by Columbus fire personnel.
Lindsey was taken to Grant Medical Center for treatment before being taken to police headquarters where he was charged with murder and then taken to the Franklin County Jail, detectives said.
Investigators say Lindsey told them a fight with his mother “escalated into this stabbing.”
