NEW ALBANY, Ohio – Police and school officials in New Albany have sent out a “stranger danger” advisory after they say a man approached girl.
The man, driving a blue Jeep, approached the 8th grade girl Monday near Third Street and Dublin Granville Road, according to the email from the New Albany-Plain Local Schools and New Albany police.
The man asked the girl where she went to school and authorities say she then changed direction to get away and reported the incident to her parents who contacted police.
The school district and police says, when approached by a stranger, kids should take the following steps:
Run away in an opposite direction to a public location, other adults, a group of people or into a public building or store.
Yell for help.
Tell others what is happening, including immediate people in a public location that can help.
Call the police.
