Sullinger pleads not guilty to domestic violence charges

WALTHAM, Mass. – Former Buckeye Jared Sullinger is pleading not guilty to charges he assaulted his girlfriend over the weekend.

Bail was set at $5,000 and Sullinger is due back in court Sept. 19th.

The “Boston Globe” reports his girlfriend declined to seek a restraining order and he is allowed to contact her by phone or with another person present.

The former standout at Northland High School and Ohio State, who is now with the Boston Celtics of the NBA, allegedly pinned her to the bed, pushed her and smashed her phone after she tried to call police. The couple reportedly argued Saturday over “perceived infidelity.”

Sullinger turned himself in after an arrest warrant was issued.
