COLUMBUS, Ohio – A man is in jail after allegedly shooting a security guard and stealing his marked vehicle outside a Northeast Side store.
Just before 1:30 a.m. Friday, Terrence Blake, 29, walked up to Gerald Wheeler, who was working in the parking lot of the Walmart at 3900 Morse Road and shot him with a .25 caliber pistol in order to steal his Ford Ranger, Assault Unit detectives said.
Blake drove off, but was caught by officers responding to the reported incident. He was charged with aggravated robbery and taken to the Franklin County Jail.
Wheeler, who works for Securitas Security Services USA, Inc., was transported to a local hospital where was treated for his injuries.
