COLUMBUS, Ohio – Columbus police are investigating the shooting death of a teenager whose body was found on a sidewalk early Thursday morning.
A passerby alerted a paving crew working near the intersection of Oakwood Avenue and White Street to a body lying on the sidewalk outside 900 Oakwood, detectives said.
The road crew called 911 and Columbus medics pronounced Lamont Frazier, 17, dead at the scene.
Investigators say he had been shot in the upper body.
He was identified using fingerprint records, police said.
Frazier was the 51st homicide victim of the year and the second of the day on the East Side.
