GROVE CITY, Ohio (AP) — Authorities say a Grove City woman was fatally struck by car when she attempted to cross a stretch of an interstate on the South Side after her vehicle ran out of gas.
Ashley Dennison, 29, had been traveling southbound on I-71 when her car ran out of gas near I-270 and she had to park next to the median, the Franklin County sheriff’s office said on Monday. Dennison later crossed to the far right side of the freeway to meet some friends who were there to help her.
After Dennison’s boyfriend was dropped off behind her car, she attempted to cross back to the median and was fatally struck.
Authorities say the investigation is ongoing. The driver who hit Dennison was not arrested and isn’t facing charges.
