A real leader in the workplace and community. That is how those who know Cassi Baker describe her.
Baker works as Vice President of Government Relations at Dublin-based Cardinal Health. In addition to her daily job duties, Baker has taken it upon herself to ensure a positive environment for other working women at one of Central Ohio’s top employers.
The Women’s initiative Network (WiN) was created with the mission of encouraging career development for women within Cardinal Health. Baker serves as co-chair of WiN.
“I didn’t get here by myself,” says Baker. “i have had wonderful mentors along my journey and i wanted to be sure that all women have the same opportunity.”
Spearheading a women’s initiative at a Fortune 500 company was not enough for Baker. She spends much of her time outside of work volunteering. Most recently, she took on duties as chair of the Public Affairs committee for March of Dimes – a charity whose values she shares.
A mother herself, Baker’s husband and kids have learned the spirit of volunteerism by serving meals as a family at the YWCA Family Shelter.
Balancing a busy career with raising a family, volunteering, and working with WiN does not phase Baker. She thinks a lot of working moms are in the same boat.
“Anyone reading this has probably done a lot more than me,” says Baker. “i am just happy that i can try my hardest to do it all.” ▪
