Diane Kearney

Kindness is sometimes soft spoken and often comes from one’s ability to “do without” in an effort to help and

give to others. Diane Kearney has quietly done just that, dedicating her life to serving others in her community and around the world.

In the past, she has sponsored disadvantaged children through Kids Across America by raising funds to support an entire cabin of campers at summer camp. Diane budgeted for these efforts with the help of her own children, who support her mother’s mission by buying all of their clothing at Ohio Thrift for the year, using the difference to help pay for the expenses of the children in need.

since the ‘80s, Diane and her family have sponsored three children in Africa through World Vision by paying for their medical, school supplies and food, and in recent years have added two other children through the ministry of Vision Trust, making a grand total of seven Kearney children.

Diane truly believes that “we all have more to give, because we can never out give God”: a message she not only teaches but adheres to as well. As for the people she helps, she says, “People aren’t invisible. We need to choose to see others around us in order to respect and honor them.” ▪
