Julie McManus

Julie McManus learned to appreciate hard work early in life. At twelve she was babysitting full-time during the summer. She never saw this as an obstacle, just a chance to learn and grow. Julie is now the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Breaking My Boundaries, an empowering women’s conference that is designed to improve women’s confidence and help them grow their sales and improve their business. “When a woman truly understands her power, and is given the tools to channel that power then I believe she becomes a more valuable member of society and more importantly more valuable in her own eyes. When she sees her worth; she does more to protect it.”

Julie is also an internationally-accomplished speaker, a consultant, trainer, and coach. She works with organizations and their leaders to help employees reach their full potential both as individuals, teams, and as organizations. Julie spends 30% of her time on planes and in hotels, so it gives her time to read, grow, and focus on her causes. “Sleep is overrated. I find I can make due on 6 hours. You can sleep when you’re dead!”

Julie is most proud of her willingness to say “yes.” “I’ve had amazing adventures because I’ve said ‘yes.’ Yes, took me to South Africa, Cuba, Peru, Paraguay, New Zealand, Mexico, etc.… I will continue to say yes and continue with the adventures.” “Yes” has also opened career doors for Julie and given her opportunities most other people only dream of. “I’ve worked in companies as diverse as airplane manufacturers, banking, insurance, telecommunications, diamond mines, gold mines, canneries, uniform manufacturers, foundries, and more. So, my ability to say yes and my lack of fear of the unknown has allowed me to do some amazing things and meet some even more amazing people. I have friends throughout the world who will do most anything for me.”

The point where Julie finally figured out she had something to accomplish is the moment that best defines her. She has had six near-death experiences and finally realized that she was here for a reason. “It wasn’t the actual experiences themselves. It was the culmination of thought and the realization that I am being ‘kept alive’ for a reason. I work hard each day to make sure I earn the right to stay alive and make a difference in others’ lives as well.”

Julie’s ultimate goal is to inspire others to be much more and do much more than what they thought they could do or be. She’s hoping to help take Breaking My Boundaries national in 2017 and if all works out, take it international in 2018. She also plans to grow her charity, I Heart Courage, into a viable and successful charity to help women pay their medical bills.
