Marci Ingram

If you have participated in an event that supported autism research in the state of Ohio in the past several years, chances are you were rallying for support side by side with Marci Ingram. Marci has passionately championed autism research, fundraising and community outreach ever since her son was diagnosed with high functioning

autism when he was just four-years-old. Over sixteen years later, Marci is still on the front lines advocating for autism research in Ohio and Washington D.C.

Marci most recently served in a leadership role at The Ohio State University’s “Walk Now for Autism Speaks” fundraising event. Her tireless efforts have not gone unrewarded. With Marci’s involvement, the event has broken participation records and has raised nearly three million dollars. Marci is proud to note that this amount raised has been during “a time when charitable

giving and non-profit participation levels were declining nationally.”

Marci has made her mark in her community by doing more than just fundraising. She is a strong advocate for behavioral interven- tions for children on the spectrum. With

her husband, Bill, Marci has worked with Nationwide Children’s Hospital to help them develop their methods of treatment. By finding specialists in California, Marci and Bill were able to aid in laying the ground work for the hospital to establish applied behavior analysis. This science modifies behaviors by using a more modern
learning theory and at Nationwide Children’s Hospital this method has been able to treat countless autistic children in Ohio.

This Ohio native has a strong history of self- lessly dedicating herself to great causes throughout the state. Marci was the co-chair of the United Way Gala and has used her talents to help them with fundraising efforts. As a captain of the Leadership Campaign and co-chair of the Young Leadership Pacesetters Group, Marci has proven to be a true example of the word “leader.”

When Marci isn’t campaigning for the causes she holds so dear, you’ll find her at her New Albany, Ohio home with Bill and son, Chris. As a graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University, she also finds time in her busy schedule to remain active with her college sorority.
