On the clock, Susan Robenalt makes a difference in people’s lives each day. As a Financial Advisor at Smith Barney, she spends her days making life savings plans for women, and helping those women live their dreams.
It is off the clock, though, where Robenalt really helps people.
Through the years, her charitable work has taken her from one organization to another. Robenalt’s involvement in Leadership Dublin – including time served as Past President – led her to volunteer for the Dublin Counseling Center. She was treasurer of Pleasure Guild, an organization that presented a $225,000 check to Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
Currently, Robenalt serves as president of Dublin A.M. Rotary, an organization whose mission is “to improve the future for the people of Dublin, Central Ohio, and the world.” They do this through fundraising initiatives in the areas of people at-risk, education, environment and other human needs. Salvation Army, Faith Mission, interact and Miracle League are among her favorite charities.
A job that she loves and extensive volunteer work are just part of Robenalt’s accomplishments. Above all, she is family-oriented, retiring from a 19-year career at Lazarus in the early ‘90s to raise her daughters.
And when her family goes through rough times, it is Robenalt they lean on. The passing of her father in 2008 brought tough times to the family, whose mother fights Alzheimer’s Disease. Robenalt remained strong and held the family together.
“i prayed a lot,” she says, comparing her driven attitude to her late father’s. “We always talked about quality of life versus quantity.” Robenalt knew it was his wish to keep the family together.
Her daughters say it is their mom’s spirit that has kept his wish alive. “She has a contagiously positive outlook on life.”
