What teenager would create his own prosthetic arm with a 3-D printer as a sophomore?? And then create one for a 7-yr-old, for free, as his senior project in high school??
Aaron Westbrook would. He was born with a limb difference. And the entire idea stemmed from Aaron persevering through the disappointment of the current prosthetic system. This 18-yr-old crowdfunded to get his equipment – started recycling drives – and a collaborates with e-Nable (an organization that provides open-source designs) – Aaron created Form5 Prosthetics Inc., a non-profit organization (501c3) that provides eco-friendly prosthetics for the poor, distressed or underprivileged with congenital and other limb differences by using 3D printing and closed-loop recycling to innovate, create, and reform the future.
Most people would be terrified of launching into a challenge such as this. Most people would never even try. Sunny 95’s Rising Stars would – and Aaron proves that nothing should ever hinder your commitment to serving others with dedication & enthusiasm.
Aaron was part of Sunny 95’s Rising Stars Class of 2018. Learn more about Aaron’s Form5 Prosthetics here.
