Isabelle Irion

Sunny 95

Isabelle Irion is a senior at New Albany High School.  She transferred to New Albany in her sophomore year.  Although the transfer was originally difficult, Isabelle has grown exponentially.  Her exposure to special needs students at New Albany High School touched her heart and led her to create a first time event for New Albany Special Olympics called “Pizza and Pups.”  Through the event, Isabelle helped raise over $13,000 for New Albany Special Olympics.  For her senior project, Isabelle participated as an assistant counselor at a special needs camp called Xenos in Burlington, Vermont.  A quote that Isabelle loves to share is “just because someone has a disability doesn’t mean they can’t do the job, it just means that they might do the job differently.”  Her long term goal is to combine her love for special needs students and computer science to advance in a career of assistive technology.

Isabelle will receive a $1,000 grant from Sunny 95 and Easterseals Central and Southeast Ohio along with a $529 OTTA 529 Savings Plan. We are honored to welcome her as part of our Sunny 95 Rising Stars Class of 2020!
