Maxine Keith

Sunny 95

At 13 years of age, Maxine recognized dangerous conditions on a road in her community, so she took matters into her own hands. She approached City Council and the Dept of Public Safety with her concerns. After a few meetings, they agreed. Not only will the speed limit be lowered on this part stretch of road, but appropriate deer crossing signs will now be policy – throughout Columbus!

“What makes me most happy,” Maxine said, “is that I’m bringing awareness not only to this specific road, but I’m also getting the attention that the deer crossing sign policies are out of date. So since I’m a girl scout I should not only be sisters to other girls but also be sisters with our fellow animals.”

Maxine will receive a $1,000 grant from Sunny 95 and Muth & Company Roofing along with a $529 OTTA Savings Plan. We are honored to have her as part of our Sunny 95 Rising Stars Class of 2019!
