While a Junior at Westerville North High School, Trent volunteered four days a week to help high-risk students and children who are learning English. Trent would help with reading, writing, and math, and continued this volunteer effort through his senior year! His kindness and compassion have really made a difference in the lives of others.
You’ve got kids in there that can read at the 3rd-grade level and some kids can’t even read at a kindergarten level. These kids had the cards stacked against them and they were still there ready to go every day. Ready to work out in the hall with me. I don’t know where they get the motivation. To want to learn like they did. Kind of inspirational in a way.” Trent recalls.
Trent will receive a $1,000 grant from Sunny 95 and Penn Station along with a $529 OTTA 529 Savings Plan. We are honored to welcome him as part of our 2019 Class of Sunny 95 Rising Stars!
