This month, Sunny 95 and the On Our Sleeves movement encourage you to take note of your kiddos’ gaming habits. Most people who have played a fun game can understand how appealing it is, especially to kids. But now, as children play less outside than ever, screen time may be the biggest contributor. We know that time spent outside and physical movement improves mental well-being, so here’s an acronym G-A-M-E to guide you…
G – GET a realistic idea of your own screen time, knowing that your kids will most-likely model your behavior.
A – ASK questions to get a better sense of what games are impacting their mental health – for better or for worse.
M – MONITOR how much time they are spending on games and who all is in the game with them regularly…and finally
E – ESTABLISH limits – for both of you. You’ll both benefit from better mental health.
