Authorities were looking for Travis Bonham, whose mother and girlfriend were found dead inside a home east of Mt. Vernon Wednesday morning and found the vehicle he was believed to be driving abandoned in Columbus overnight, according to WBNS 10-TV.
As of early Thursday morning, authorities thought he was driving red Ford Mustang with Michigan license plates DGW6620.
The Knox County Sheriff’s Office told the television station that deputies were dispatched to a home on the 18000 block of Coshocton Road just before 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in Mount Vernon and found the bodies of Sandra Stelk, 50, and Jaime Barber, 23. Both victims lived at the Mount Vernon residence.
Investigators say it’s unclear thus far how the pair was killed.
Deputies were dispatched after Stelk’s daughter entered the home and called 911 to report her mother had been assaulted and was possibly dead.
Bonham, 31, considered a “person of interest” in the case, but not a suspect, has been identified as the son of Stelk and boyfriend of Barber.
He is described as a white male, average height, medium build with many tattoos, including on the face, neck and arms.
The black 2011 Dodge Charger found in Columbus late Wednesday was registered to Stelk.
