New look, same team

BEREA, Ohio (AP) – The Browns have unveiled a new primary logo, and it’s not much different than the old one.

The only NFL team without a logo decal on its helmet, Cleveland’s main logo remains its iconic helmet though with a brighter orange and a brown facemask. The team wanted to recognize its strong tradition with the updated logo and a secondary “Dawg Pound” image (right), which honors the Browns’ passionate fan base.

Browns president Alec Scheiner said Tuesday the team will unveil its new uniforms on April 14. The only hint Scheiner would provide about the new Nike-designed uniforms is they “will move farther ahead” than the logo.

Scheiner said the team went through a two-year evaluation process in designing the new logos and uniforms. The Browns did consider putting a logo on the helmet.

The team’s primary logo also includes a bolder color and lettering.

Independent bookstores are multiplying, although many people still think they’re dying out

Allison Hill, CEO of the American Booksellers Association, is used to strangers expressing sympathy when they learn what she does for a living. "It's all so funny," she says. "When I tell them I run the trade association for independent stores, they'll say, 'It's just so sad that they're disappearing.'
