COLUMBUS, Ohio – The first national championship trophy of the College Football Playoff era is going on display at the Statehouse this weekend.

Officials say the trophy one by the Ohio State Buckeyes will be exhibited from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Friday in the Map Room on the lower level of the Statehouse and from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p..m. Saturday and Sunday in the Rotunda.
Ohio State President Michael Drake says sharing the trophy with Ohioans is a chance to, in his words, “affirm the qualities that exemplify what it means to be a Buckeye.”
Ohio State beat Oregon 42-20 in the inaugural national championship game on Jan. 12.
