Data-scrubbing figure quits

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The key figure in the Columbus City Schools’ data-fixing scandal is stepping down.

The school board accepted Steve Tankovich’s resignation last night, just months after the state launched an investigation into shady student data reports.

Tankovich is the alleged the leader of efforts to improve the district’s test scores by manipulating enrollment data.
