Kasich proposes $15B school plan

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Governor John Kasich says his education reform plan will solve Ohio’s school funding crisis while improving student achievement.

The governor unveiled a $15 billion, two-year proposal yesterday that would pump more money into lower-income school districts, provide vouchers to students living in poverty and increase special education funding.

It increases funding for schools by 6 percent next year and 3.2 percent in the second year.
