COLUMBUS, Ohio – The state has granted tax breaks for two companies bringing 750 jobs to central Ohio.
The Ohio Tax Credit Authority approved a 70 percent, 10-year Job Creation Tax Credit for Verizon Wireless, which is consolidating its facilities in Hilliard, promising to create 500 full-time jobs and $20.8 million in additional annual payroll, according to the office of Gov. John Kasich.
Speed FC expects to double its work force to 250 full-time positions, generating $6 million in additional annual payroll and retaining $5.5 million in existing payroll as a result of the e-commerce company’s $3.2 million 770,000-square-foot expansion to its facility in Etna Township.
The company provides e-commerce services including website development, fulfillment and call center services.
The TCA approved a 50 percent, eight-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.
The two projects were among 13 announced by Kasich yesterday, which he says will create 1,417 jobs and retain 2,995 jobs statewide, spurring approximately $86 million in investment across Ohio.
