The female cubs were born March 22 and 23 and have been in a secluded den, being cared for by mother, Mara (above), until they were old enough for her to take them outside.

A gorilla born May 23 will also be on display Thursday, May 30, between noon at 3:00 p.m.

At first, it will be up to Mara whether or not she chooses to bring them outside where they can be seen by Zoo guests.

These cubs are six-year-old Mara’s second litter with 10-year-old male, Foli.

The previous litter was born in June 2012. Mara and Foli’s two litters are the only two litters of Amur tigers, also known as Siberian tigers, ever born at the Columbus Zoo.
