Growing up, Drenda Keesee had it all. She was a straight “A“ student, valedictorian of her graduating class, and aspired to one day be the first woman president. Life was good for Drenda until her senior year of high school when she suffered from a nervous breakdown. She was having difficulty attaining her identity while trying to take on so much. In her darkest hour, Drenda cried out to God and was given Jesus Christ.
Drenda is now the associate pastor at Faith Life Church alongside her husband, Pastor Gary Keesee. Drenda met her husband while attending Christian college in Oklahoma and the two of them eventually made their way to Columbus, Ohio. Shortly after marriage the couple found themselves in a great deal of debt and running out of options, they turned to God. Through His word, they were able to eliminate all of their debt in a short two-year period.
Now, Drenda makes it her mission to share her story with those around her. In her book, She Gets It!, Drenda addresses the 11 lies that women often face in today’s culture. The book, published by Destiny Image, shines light on how women should face issues such as marriage, money, parenting, and more. Drenda hopes to help people get back to the foundations that are crumbling around us. She wants to restore faith, family, and financial values back into our society.
Mother to five fantastic children, three daughters and two sons, Drenda’s entire family is active in the Faith Life ministry which does a great job of catering to the younger generation. Every Saturday evening, the XM Youth Ministry meets for a service called The Mix which presents challenging discussions, games and music for teens and young adults to partake in.
Drenda just recently began producing her own television show, Drenda Now, and also co-hosts Faith Life Now with her husband, Gary. Faith Life Now is aired weekly and discusses issues that deal with finances, faith, and family. Using personal anecdotes, the couple shares how faith and God’s word can be used to overcome any situation.
In addition to Drenda’s television and ministry work, she has also worked to start the nonprofit Faith Life Ministry College which provides students with an opportunity to earn an affordable degree in Biblical Studies or Religious Arts.
In 1994, Faith Life Church was born as a small Bible study operating out of a basement; this gave Drenda’s husband, Gary, the opportunity for him to share God’s principles. Since then, the church has grown to a full-service ministry and is now housed in New Albany, Ohio.
