Federally Employed Women Selects Columbus, Ohio for 2023 Training Site

(Washington, District of Columbia) — December 14, 2022 —Pamela H. Richards, National President for Federally Employed Women (FEW) is excited to announce Columbus, Ohio, as the host city for its 2023 National Training Program (NTP). The NTP is FEW’s premiere training and networking event, attracting thousands of federal, state, local government, and military personnel, contractors, vendors, corporate sponsors, and partners from across the country, to a prestigious location each year. The 2023 NTP will take place at the Hilton Downtown Columbus Hotel with the theme, “Leveling Up For Success: Ready, Set, Grow!”

FEW’s National Board of Directors voted to select the “Discovery City” for many reasons: its vibrant and youthful arts scene, its rich technology industry, a firm commitment to social justice causes including socio-economic advancement for underrepresented groups, a visible plan to establish equity, and the potential to grow a thriving partnership between local leaders, the community, and FEW’s nationwide network of members. “Mayor Ginther has rolled out the red carpet of hospitality for us and we intend to reciprocate by spreading the word about this great city,” states President Richards. Local artists, vendors, and other organizations will be invited to participate in various events throughout the week-long training program, such as a welcome reception, a legislative luncheon, and exhibit hall displays.

July 10-14, 2023, marks the 54th NTP for FEW. Early registration begins in February 2023. With over 50 specialized courses on Human Resources, Information Technology, Project Management, Leadership, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility, the NTP is designed to provide a dedicated workforce with advanced knowledge and practical ways of initiating career growth. While FEW Works for the Advancement of Women in the Government, its membership and training opportunities are open to everyone.

FEW’s training programs have three primary functions:

  • To increase participant knowledge of the Federal system, rules, and regulations
  • To help participants acquire knowledge for career development and planning techniques
  • To enhance participants’ effectiveness and awareness of the broader issues that impact women

FEW is a private, non-profit organization founded in 1968, shortly after the government issued Executive Order 11375, which added sex discrimination to the list of prohibited discrimination within the Federal Government.
