Schools have historically been a battleground for civil rights and — unfortunately — this holds true today with the issues we’re seeing nationally around LGBTQ+ rights and the erasure of our nation’s history.
As an organization dedicated to eliminating racism and rooted in peace, freedom, justice, and dignity for all, YWCA Columbus has a vested interest in ensuring that
all youth, particularly students of color and LGBTQ+ students, are taught truth in schools and given equitable opportunities to succeed.
Author, advocate, and professor Ibram X. Kendi will be leading the conversation on antiracism, education, and his recent work to make history accessible to all ages.
