COLUMBUS – Two men were killed and another injured in a shooting in a West Side apartment complex as a rash of gun violence in Columbus showed no sign of letting up.

A total of seven people were shot in the past 24 hours and police say a man reported being shot on Sunday in a dispute over a haircut.

Detectives say Marquayvius McGill, 24, and Dominique Freeman, 21, were found in the area of 4840 Timberwood Drive North at 11:18 p.m. by officers responding to a report of a shooting in the area of 1010 Timberwood Drive West, Sgt. David Shimberg of the Homicide Unit said.

Divante Hall, 26, was also found, suffering from a gunshot wound to his foot. A fourth victim, Xavier Reynolds, was uninjured Shimberg said.

McGill and Freeman were pronounced dead at the scene by Columbus Division of Fire personnel and Hall was taken to a local area hospital where he is expected to recover from his injuries, Shimberg said.

Investigators had little information Thursday morning about the motive for the shootings and named no suspects. The incident is still under investigation.

These are the 78th and 79th homicides in Columbus in 2020.
