COLUMBUS – The Clippers and Toledo Mud Hens banged out 28 base hits and Toledo came out the winner, 11-9, in the final game of a six-game series at Huntington Park Monday.

Columbus battled back from a 7-4 deficit and tied the score at 8-8 in the seventh inning on a two-run double by Zack Collins, who collected three RBI on the night.

Toledo’s Colt Keith broke the deadlock an inning later with an RBI single to left field.

The Mud Hens added two more runs in the ninth to guarantee the win.

Micah Pries hit a pair of two-run homers for the Clippers.

Grant Witherspoon hit a two-run home run for Toledo and Justyn-Henry Malloy added a solo shot.

Sean Guenther (1-0) got the win in relief while Michael Kelly (1-3) was saddled with the loss.

The Clippers won four of the six games against their in-state rivals and open a six-game series in Nashville Tuesday.
