Woman’s death deemed suspicious

COLUMBUS – Police are treating the death of a woman found in a truck on a West Side street Sunday as suspicious.

Homicide Unit detectives were called in to investigate the death of the woman, whose identity had not been confirmed early Monday, Sgt. David Shimberg said.

Officers responding to a report of an unresponsive female in a truck parked in the 2000 block of Sullivant Avenue at 5:08 p.m. found the woman and, due to suspicious circumstances, Homicide Unit investigators also responded, Shimberg said.

The Franklin County Coroner’s Office will determine the manner and cause of death.

The incident remains under investigation.

Suspect in convenience store shooting surrenders.

A man sought by police in connection with the fatal shooting of a bystander during an exchange of gunfire near a Northeast Side convenience store last month has turned himself in to authorities.

Keimariyon Ross turned himself at the Franklin County Jail on Sunday, according to Homicide Unit Sgt. James Marable.

Detectives have filed an arrest warrant for Ross, 18, on a murder charge for the shooting death of Kevin Sobnosky on Oct. 30.

Sobnosky, 21, and another man were driving in the area when their vehicle was struck by gunfire coming from the parking area of a local business where two groups of people near a Sheetz convenience store in the 1400 block of N. Cassady Avenue and Sobnosky died later that day at a hospital.
