COLUMBUS – Two people have been taken to area hospitals after an explosion and fire in Hamilton Township early Tuesday morning.
The explosion was first reported at 6:42 a.m. in the area of Scarlett Lane and Janice Marie Boulevard, in a residential area east of U.S. Route 23.
One person was taken to the Wexner OSU Medical Center in critical condition and another was transported to Grant Medical Center in stable condition, said Marc Gofstein, public information officer for the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office who was coordinating media communication efforts with the Hamilton Township Fire Department.
There was no indication what caused the explosion, which reportedly took place in a mobile home.
