COLUMBUS – Columbus police issued a statewide Amber Alert for 4-month-old boy missing from the Northeast Side.
UPDATE 2/9/21 12:16pm: Police confirm child has been located safe.
The car was recovered with the child at 12:01 p.m. at the intersection of Hildreth and Ohio Avenues, according to the Columbus Division of Police Twitter feed.
The child was apparently unharmed and was taken to the hospital as a precaution, police said
According to information in the Amber Alert, Alpha Kamara was in an unattended vehicle when it was taken from a KinderCare in the area of Tamarack Boulevard and Maple Canyon Drive at 8:24 a.m.
The SUV’s driver had left the vehicle running while she brought an older child into the child care center.
He was found unharmed about four hours later was discovered by two women who had just seen an Amber Alert about him.
Taeyonna Webb and Nave Dowe were driving in the city when they saw a parked SUV that resembled the stolen vehicle, police said. They opened the SUV’s door and saw the child, who was sitting peacefully in a car seat
