COLUMBUS – The Clippers scored five runs in the eighth inning to beat the Toledo Mud Hens, 6-2, at Huntington Park Thursday night.
Oscar Gonzalez kicked off the rally with a run-scoring double to right field off reliever Blair Calvo (0-2) that tied the score at 2-2.
Calvo delivered a bases-loaded walk to Zack Collins to bring in the go-ahead run.
Cade Smith shut out the Mud Hens in the ninth to secure the win for Nic Enright (3-1).
Gonzalez also hit a solo home run for Columbus.
