COLUMBUS – The Clippers watched a four-run lead evaporate but scored twice in the ninth inning to earn a 7-6 win over the Toledo Mud Hens Saturday night at Huntington Park.
After Columbus built a 5-1 lead, Johan Camargo’s two-run homer started the Mud Hens’ rally in the seventh that ended with the score tied at 5-all and Michael Papierski singled home the go-ahead run in the eighth.
Jhonkensy Noel’s double to right field brought Oscar Gonzalez home to tie the score again in the ninth and Noel scored the winner on Reynal Delgado’s two-out single off Miguel Diaz (1-3).
Cade Smith (1-0) got the win for Columbus.
