NASHVILLE – Nashville Sounds starter Janson Junk must have been living up to his name Tuesday night as the Clippers unloaded on him for nine runs in the first inning and went on to stomp the Sounds, 19-2, in the opening game of a six-game series at First Horizon Park.

The right-hander (5-5) gave up six hits, including a three-run home run to Oscar Gonzalez, while walking three batters before being pulled after only 1/3 of an inning.

Zach Plesac (2-3) took over from Columbus starter Logan Allen in the fourth and gave up both of Nashville’s runs on a two-run Tyrone Taylor homer but was still awarded the win.

The Clippers hit four home runs during the game, including two by Micah Pries.
