COLUMBUS (AP) — A civilian police review board has selected a Detroit investigator as the first inspector general to review police misconduct claims in Ohio’s capital city.

Jacqueline Hendricks-Moore is currently a senior investigator for Detroit’s Office of Inspector General.
The Columbus Civilian Police Review Board voted to hire her Wednesday from a list of four finalists.
The inspector general can conduct independent reviews and make recommendations for discipline, but the city’s public safety director would still have the final say.
City voters approved the review board and the inspector general position in November 2020 as part of efforts to strengthen police accountability pushed by Mayor Andrew Ginther.
Hendricks-Moore starts in March.
