CANAL WINCHESTER – Franklin County sheriff’s detectives arrested a Canal Winchester couple after finding an estimated $1 million worth of marijuana, heroin and cocaine in their car and home last week.

A detective with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Unit pulled Alberto Garcia over on I-270 near US Route 62 in the Grove City area on Thursday and noticed the aroma of burning marijuana, Sheriff Dallas Baldwin said.

A search by K-9 Ivan indicated the presence of narcotics in the car and Baldwin says a search revealed a burning marijuana cigarette and approximately 327 grams of cocaine.
Detectives executed a search warrant on Garcia’s home on Valerie Angela Way in Canal Winchester found approximately 640 pounds of marijuana, one kilogram of heroin and one-half ounce of cocaine, with a combine estimated street value of approximately $1,000,000, Baldwin said. Detectives also found scales and a cash-counting machine
Garcia, 37, and his wife, Nafchesca Rodriguez, 33, had been the targets of an extensive drug-related investigation, Baldwin said.
They have been charged with possession of suspected heroin, a felony, and Baldwin says additional charges are likely.
