COLUMBUS – Ohioans have been working remotely, going to school online and enjoying virtual get-togethers during the coronavirus pandemic. Why not a “virtual state fair”?
The 2020 Ohio State Fair was canceled due to COVID-19 but “Ohio State Fair Anywhere: An Online Experience” launched yesterday.
It is a digital collection that includes copycat fair food recipes for midway favorites like deep-fried Oreos, fried pickles, walking tacos, lemon shake-ups and pineapple whip.
The American Dairy Association is offering a virtual butter cow contest.
On the Mountain Dew Virtual Midway, visitors can get “rider point-of-view” videos via YouTube.
The site offers a “Shop the Fair” page where “fairgoers” can shop online from vendors selling jewelry, clothing and pet products, among other items.
Along with information on how to create their own butter cow, the site allows Ohioans to learn the best-in-the-state blue ribbon recipes for peanut butter cookies, blueberry muffins, chocolate chip cookies, fudge, lemon pound cake and more homemade goodies.
