COLUMBUS – Columbus recorded the 199th homicide of 2021 early Monday morning, when a 22-year-old man was shot to death on the East Side.
Officers were dispatched to the 1100 Block of Shady Lane Road at approximately 4:39 a.m. on an unknown complaint found Preston Bell suffering from an apparent gunshot wound, Sgt. Edward Powell of the Columbus police Homicide Unit said.
Whitehall Fire Department personnel pronounced Bell dead at the scene, Powell said.
