COLUMBUS – The funeral service for a Franklin County sheriff’s deputy killed in a traffic crash a week ago is scheduled for Friday in Sunbury.
Angela Kane was killed in an accident on U.S. 33 on Sept. 25.
The service will include some of the traditional law enforcement honors, including the ceremonial folding and presentation of the flag, and the playing of taps, but will be held outdoors because of social distancing guidelines, Sheriff Dallas Baldwin says the service will be held outdoors.
The family will be seated but most of the other attendees will remain in their vehicles and listen to the service on a designated radio station.
Immediately following the service, a procession will escort Kane, who was 51, to Athens County for burial in a graveside ceremony that will remain private for friends and family, Baldwin said
