COLUMBUS, Ohio – The OhioHealth Capital City Half Marathon and 5K will take place Saturday amid road construction that could make in challenging for runners and spectators to get to the starting line.

Roadwork with detours is planned on I-670 westbound. The recommended routes to avoid detours:
For those coming from the east via I-70:
Use the Mound Street Connector (Downtown) exit or take S.R. 315 North to the Rich Street/Town Street exit and turn right (east) on West Town Street
For those coming from the east via I-670:
Take I-71 South to the Spring Street, Broad Street or Main Street exits, follow signs to downtown.
For those coming from the South via I-71:
Use State Route 315 North to the Rich Street/Town Street exit and turn right (east) on West Town Street.
Or, as an alternate, take the Long Street/Dublin Road exit and turn right (east) or take I-70 East to the Fourth Street exit and turn left (north).
Other directions of travel should not be impacted by the weekend closures.
Half-Marathon and Quarter Marathon start at 8:00 a.m. at S. Front Street & W. Town Street. 5K starts at 8:20 a.m.
Street closures will be in place in preparation for the event and rolling closures will be in place along the routes during the events, especially near the beginning of each course. (Click here for maps)
Motorists should plan for delays, consider alternate routes and be alert for closures and pedestrian traffic.
Participants and spectators are encouraged to carpool or use COTA to reduce congestion and parking delays.

In preparation for the event, the following roads will be closed to through-traffic from Friday evening to mid-day Saturday:
5:00 p.m. Friday-2:00 p.m. Saturday: E. Town Street between S. 3rd Street and the Columbus Commons garage entrance
7:00 p.m. Friday-2:00 p.m. Saturday: S. High Street between Rich Street and Broad Street
E. State Street between S. High Street & S. 3rd Street
7:00 p.m. Friday-11:00 a.m. Saturday: S Front Street between W. Town Street & W. Mound Street
