COLUMBUS – The Indianapolis Indians got to Clippers starter Zach Plesac in the sixth inning, scoring three runs on the way to a 7-3 win Friday night at Huntington Park.
The right-hander (1-2) struck out five hitters but surrendered three runs over 5 1/3 innings before leaving with the Clippers trailing
Aaron Shackleford delivered the big blow, a two-run home run to right-center field that broke a 1-1 tie in the fourth and gave Indianapolis a lead it never relinquished.
Cal Mitchell and Canaan Smith-Njigba also hit homers for the Indians.
Chris Roller and Oscar Gonzalez delivered solo home runs for Columbus.
